Join us as we explore the healing wisdom of fairy tales by using these films as a tool, a guide, and a safe structure.  Viewing and discussing fairy tales can be a portal to explore our inner world and our connection to the outer world.  We will explore the provocative symbols and how they show up in our lives: a child not living up to a parent’s expectations, learning the language of animals, confronting monsters, discovering treasure, answering a frightening call. Laura seeks to make these old stories new again by updating the film with hidden symbols, humor, modern tropes, as well as female heroes. We invite you to preview each short film (5-10 minutes) ahead of time. Our discussion will focus on how the symbols and guidance might appear in our  daily lives.

Laura Lewis-Barr is a stop-motion filmmaker and educator. Her films are quirky and fun and have been screened around the world.
