Being and Aliveness in the Present |
|
| |
Paying attention to the present moment is a basic
religious
practice. Modern Christian teachers remind us
that awareness in the present enhances our aliveness.
Come discover and gently practice a "mindfulness"
that allows regrets about the past and anxiety about
the future to fade in the peace of the present.
Facilitator: Bonnie Thurston is a WV native. She was a university professor and is a widely published poet
and author. Her newest book, "Maverick Mark,
Untaming the First Gospel", will
appear in May, 2013 (Liturgical Press).

Quilting Retreat Weekend |
|
 |
Quilting has long been a part of our Appalachian

wedding gift or baby quilt. It was a time of sharing
stories, exchanging bits of gossip and matters of
the
heart. Let the story continue this weekend.
Facilitator: Sandi Blackwell,
is an artisan of the
Wheeling Artisan Center and the
state artisan project "MountainMade.com". Her quilts have
been on display
in many areas of West Virginia.
